The first Pan-Northern Leaders’ Statement on Climate Change

On May 9, 2022, the NWT Metis Nation joined the three Northern Premiers and other Indigenous Leadership from across the north in issuing the first Pan-Northern Leaders’ Statement on Climate Change.

The statement calls for federal support, attention, and investment in seven key areas. As the impacts of climate change become more apparent the environmental threats to our communities must be met and addressed through increased federal funding and support.
