Slave River Walleye Spawning Study

During the last days of May, the NWT Metis Nation (NWTMN) joined representatives from the Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) in holding a Walleye spawning study of fish from the Slave River.

Assisting with the study, and bringing a wealth of knowledge, were Métis Elders Richard Mercredi and Gordon Pischinger.

The NWT Métis Nation appreciates the opportunity to participate in this study as we have a long and proud history of harvesting fish from the Slave River to feed ourselves and our community.
