Kayla’s Bio

My name is Kayla Maurice, owner of Karm Collective. I am a Métis woman, mother, entrepreneur, Reiki Master Teacher and breathwork facilitator. Born and raised in Hay River, Northwest Territories, it is incredibly meaningful for me to return home and offer these breathwork sessions within the community that helped shape who I am today.

My journey into healing began through my own life experiences. Like many people, I have faced challenges, stress, grief, trauma and periods where I felt disconnected from myself. Through breathwork, Reiki, meditation and personal growth I discovered powerful tools that helped me reconnect with myself, find greater peace and navigate life’s ups and downs with more resilience.

Today, I am passionate about sharing these tools with others. I know firsthand how transformative it can be to have a safe space to slow down, breathe and simply be.

Breathwork is a guided practice that uses intentional breathing techniques to support physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Your breath is one of the most powerful healing tools you have access to. Breathwork can help reduce stress, regulate the nervous system, improve mental clarity, release stored emotions, increase energy and create a deeper connection to yourself.

No experience is necessary. Whether this is your first time trying breathwork or you’ve explored other healing modalities before, you are welcome exactly as you are.

Have you been feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, down, exhausted or disconnected from yourself? If so, know that you are not alone. These sessions are designed to provide a supportive environment where you can pause, reconnect, and give yourself permission to focus on your own well being.

As your facilitator, I am here to guide and support you throughout the experience. My intention is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore the power of your breath and leave feeling more grounded, empowered  and connected.

It is truly an honor to bring this work back to the Northwest Territories and to share it with fellow community members. I look forward to breathing, healing, and growing together one breath at a time.
